Don Jazzy denies taking money to promote entertainment projects

Don Jazzy, the music executive, has said no celebrity has ever paid him for promotional work. He made the statement after a social media user claimed he promotes projects only for money.

The Mavin Records boss, born Michael Collins Ajereh, shared a comedy skit on Tuesday featuring Nollywood actor Itele. In the video, Itele tied him up and jokingly forced him to promote the upcoming film, Black Market.

However, the skit sparked mixed reactions on X. A user identified as Oba Tai Oshomo suggested that Don Jazzy accepted the promotion because he received payment.

Don Jazzy fit do anything for money,” the user wrote.

Don Jazzy quickly rejected the claim. He insisted that he has never collected money from anyone in the entertainment industry for promotional work.

“Nobody in the entertainment space has ever paid me a dime for promo oo. You think say I be Don for mouth. The Don’s blessings na free bro,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, Black Market plans to set a Guinness World Records (GWR) title for the largest film screening in a single location. Rixel Studios is producing the film in collaboration with FilmOne Studios, Signet Ring Studios and Switch Visuals Production.

The organisers aim to attract 50,000 people to the premiere. As a result, they hope to beat the current GWR record of more than 43,000 people watching a film at one venue.

The record attempt will take place on September 26 at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) in Lagos.
