Desmond Elliot has sparked fresh speculation about a possible return to Nollywood after videos of the actor-turned-politician on a movie set surfaced online, months after he failed to secure the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket in the party’s primary election.
The appearance has generated excitement among fans who have been eager to know what the next chapter holds for Elliot following his political setback. While many expected him to remain focused on politics, the recent footage suggests he may be reconnecting with the film industry that made him a household name.
Elliot was recently spotted on the set of an upcoming movie, where his appearance quickly caught the attention of fans. In the viral clip, the former lawmaker wore a costume bearing the inscription “Lere boy.” His hair was styled in cornrows and decorated with cowries, giving him the look of a traditional character.
The video also showed Elliot at the film village of Nigerian producer and director Ibrahim Chatta, a development that has fueled speculation about the nature of the project.
Many fans believe the production could be an epic film, considering Chatta’s reputation for creating culturally rich stories. The footage has also sparked conversations about the role Elliot may be playing.
In the video, Chatta hinted at an innovative project while addressing viewers.
“We are here at Ibrahim Chatta village, and this is where we’re filming, and Honourable is here. This is the first AI film. We are doing something new; you don’t know what is coming.”
Before entering politics, Elliot built a successful career in Nollywood, appearing in numerous productions. He later represented Surulere Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly after first winning the election in 2015.
