Nigerian music star Davido has released his sixth studio album, ORIADÉ, featuring Mayorkun, FOLA, Black Sherif, Llona, Leon Thomas, Aya Nakumara, JAZZWRLD, GL_Ceejay, and NO11.

The album marks a new phase in the career of the Afrobeats singer, who has spent more than 15 years at the top of the music industry.

Davido announces new era

Davido first announced the album on June 29 through his social media platforms. The announcement featured a video of the singer dressed in regal Yoruba attire. A Yoruba eulogy in the background reflected the meaning and spirit of the album title.

“The kingdom expands. Chosen long before the throne,” Davido captioned the post.

The project is his sixth studio album and seventh major project since he rose to fame in Nigeria.

Lead singles build anticipation

Davido introduced the ORIADÉ era with I Know Who I Be, featuring South African duo JAZZWRLD and GL_Ceejay.

The song reflects on his 15-year music journey and some of the major moments that shaped his career. Its music video takes viewers back to the childhood home where his story began. The video also features appearances from longtime collaborators and members of his team.

He later released Gimme Dat Ting with NO11. The track combines Afrobeats and Amapiano sounds while celebrating ambition, success, and confidence.

A shorter tracklist

In a recent interview with American media platform Notion, Davido said the album offers something for different types of listeners.

ORIADÉ also breaks a long-running pattern in his discography. His previous five albums all contained 17 tracks. The new project arrives with 13 songs, making it his shortest studio album in years.

Featured artists on ORIADÉ

The album includes Amazing Grace featuring Black Sherif, Tell Everybody featuring Leon Thomas, Yaya featuring Aya Nakumara, and My Light featuring Llona.

Fans will also hear B4 B4, which reunites Davido with Mayorkun and FOLA.

Other songs on the album include On The Road, Julie, Constantly, Already Falling, Zanzibar, and Guide.

World tour plans

Davido has already started announcing dates for a world tour that will support the album.
