Kai Cenat Reveals Efforts to Secure a US Visa for Carter Efe Failed

Popular American streamer Kai Cenat has said he did everything he could to help Nigerian comedian and content creator Carter Efe secure a United States visa for the 2026 edition of Streamer University.

Cenat made the revelation during the opening ceremony for the Class of 2026, explaining why Carter Efe could not attend the programme.

Kai Cenat Explains Visa Efforts

Addressing participants at the event, Cenat disclosed that he personally worked with Carter Efe during the visa process but was unable to secure a positive outcome.

“I was trying to get Carter Efe his visa. I was working with him, and it wasn’t able to happen,” Cenat said.

Streamer University brings together selected content creators from different countries for training, collaboration and networking opportunities. Carter Efe earned a place in this year’s class and had repeatedly shared his excitement about attending.

Carter Efe Reacts to Setback

Following the visa setback, Carter Efe expressed his frustration in several livestreams. The comedian broke down emotionally and spoke about the difficulties many Nigerians face when seeking international travel opportunities.

“We’re trapped in this country. Yes, in case you don’t know, we’re trapped. We can’t go anywhere we want. We’re finished,” he said.

In another livestream, he blamed Nigeria’s damaged image abroad for the outcome.

“If they can do a person like me, now imagine normal civilians. Nigerians have destroyed our reputation,” he said.

His reactions attracted sympathy from fellow creators and fans on social media, many of whom expressed support for him.

Appeal to Seyi Tinubu

Before Kai Cenat confirmed his absence from the programme, Carter Efe had appealed to Seyi Tinubu, the son of President Bola Tinubu, for help.

“Nigerian pls help me tag Seyi Tinubu to do something about my visa wahala. Pls I don’t want to be in Nigeria. Pls help me tag Seyi, he has the power. His father is the president. It’s a shameful thing that they picked me, and I did not go because of the visa,” he said.

Carter Efe’s experience comes amid tighter US immigration and visa policies under President Donald Trump’s administration. The policies have increased scrutiny of visa applications from several countries, including Nigeria.
