MultiChoice Nigeria has announced that the 2026 edition of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) will premiere on Sunday, July 26, with contestants competing for a record-breaking grand prize of N160 million.

The prize package, the highest since the reality show’s debut in 2006, includes N100 million in cash and a brand-new SUV, according to the organisers.

During a press briefing on Wednesday, MultiChoice disclosed that this year’s winner will receive the historic reward, surpassing previous prize packages offered in the competition.

The announcement comes after the organisers concluded auditions for the 11th season of the popular reality show. Physical screenings were held from May 22 to 24 in Lagos, Abuja and Enugu.

Participation in the audition process was free and open only to individuals aged 21 and above who possessed a valid means of identification.

BBNaija remains one of Africa’s most popular reality television shows, attracting thousands of aspiring contestants and millions of viewers across the continent.

The upcoming season follows the success of the 2025 edition, won by Opeyemi Ayanwale, popularly known as Imisi.

Imisi emerged victorious on October 5, 2025, after defeating 28 other housemates. She went home with a prize package valued at N150 million, including N80 million cash and an SUV.
