Nigerian music star Wizkid has excited fans after hinting at a new album on social media.

The Grammy-winning Afrobeats artist recently posted a short message on his X page. The post simply read, “Album”, sparking speculation about a new project.

The 35-year-old singer, born Ayodeji Balogun, did not share any other details. He did not reveal the album title or a release date.

The teaser comes nearly two years after he released his fifth studio album, ‘Morayo’, in November 2024. He dedicated the album to his late mother, Jane Dolapo Balogun, who died in August 2023.

Wizkid rose to fame in 2011 with the release of his debut album, ‘Superstar’. He later released several successful projects, including ‘Ayo’ in 2014 and ‘Sound From The Other Side’ in 2017.

In 2020, he released ‘Made In Lagos’. The album featured Damian Marley, Skepta, H.E.R, Ella Mai, Burna Boy, Tems and Terri. It became one of the most successful Afrobeats projects worldwide. In October 2024, Apple Music recognised it as the most-streamed Nigerian album on the platform.

Wizkid followed up with ‘More Love, Less Ego’, a 13-track album released in 2022.

The singer has won several awards during his career. In 2021, he earned a Grammy Award for his collaboration with Beyoncé on the hit song ‘Brown Skin Girl’.
