Being a celebrity may look glamorous online, but singer Magixx says the pressure that comes with fame is something many people do not truly understand.
Speaking during a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo, the Mavin Records artiste opened up about the emotional and mental demands of being an entertainer, especially in the age of social media.
According to Magixx, many people assume artistes only enjoy the exciting side of fame, without realising the responsibilities and pressure attached to the lifestyle. He explained that beyond making music, artistes still have to show up for video shoots, travel constantly for performances, stay connected with family, maintain relationships, and still keep fans entertained at all times.
“You are still the person who is going to show up for video shoots, you are still the person who is going to pick up your family calls, you are still the person who has a love interest,” he shared during the conversation.
The singer added that the pressure becomes even more intense because celebrities are constantly expected to maintain a fresh image online. According to him, repeating outfits on social media is often frowned upon, forcing many artists to carefully think about what they wear each time they appear online.
“Like this cloth now, this will be the last time you see it on social media,” Magixx said, while explaining how exhausting it can be to constantly keep up appearances.
