Nigerian singer Adekunle Gold has finally addressed the long-running rumours that he and his wife, Simi, welcomed twins, making it clear that the speculation was far from the truth.

Speaking during an appearance on the Great Day Houston podcast, the singer opened up about family life, music, and the creative bond he shares with Simi while promoting his newly released Fuji Xtra project.

“It’s interesting to be married to another fantastic songwriter,” he said. “My wife and I didn’t give birth to twins, it’s just internet rumours. We have a son.”

The rumours first gained traction in January after Adekunle Gold shared a cryptic Snapchat post that read: “Asked God for another child and He blessed me double.” Fans immediately interpreted the statement as a hint that the couple had welcomed twins.

Speculation intensified after reports surfaced that the singer had purchased two cars shortly before the couple publicly announced the pregnancy, leaving many convinced the “double blessing” referred to babies.

The couple eventually confirmed the arrival of their son in the music video for My Love Is the Same, which featured Simi visibly pregnant. She later revealed that their baby boy was born on March 10, 2026.
