“I’m Independent Now, Everything with Mavin Is Settled” – Crayon Clears the Air

Nigerian singer Crayon has finally spoken up about the controversy that once stirred conversations online, making it clear that there’s no lingering tension between him and his former label, Mavin Records.

In a recent video that has been making the rounds, the “Ijo (Laba Laba)” crooner addressed the situation involving skit maker Carter Efe and Mavin boss Don Jazzy. According to Crayon, what many people saw online didn’t reflect the full picture. He explained that whatever issues came up at the time have since been handled privately, away from the noise of social media.

Speaking candidly, Crayon said he still has a lot of love and respect for Don Jazzy and the entire Mavin team, describing them as family. He made it clear that his exit from the label wasn’t fueled by conflict, but rather a personal decision to take his career in a new direction.

“I’m independent now, everything with Mavin is settled,” he said, in a tone that suggested closure rather than conflict.

The singer also touched on how quickly situations can be blown out of proportion online, hinting that fans don’t always get the full story. For him, the most important thing was resolving things peacefully behind the scenes and maintaining relationships that have played a big role in his journey.

Now operating as an independent artist, Crayon seems focused on what’s next. While he didn’t go deep into future plans, his message was clear—he’s entering a new phase of his career with a clean slate, no grudges, and full control of his sound.
