As controversies continue to trail activist and philanthropist Harrison Gwamnishu, cybersecurity expert and public commentator Charles Awuzie has released a deeply personal and revealing open message that shifts the conversation from outrage to accountability, mentorship, and redemption.

Awuzie began by recounting a private history many never knew existed. According to him, his decision to stay silent in the early days of the allegations against Gwamnishu was not rooted in fear or compromise, but in belief.
He claimed he once saw Harrison as a symbol of hope; a young man whose humility, calm demeanor, and charisma made people genuinely root for him. That belief, he said, was the reason he initially chose diplomacy over public confrontation.
However, with the issues now fully exposed and Harrison having gone through police detention, Awuzie made it clear that silence was no longer helpful. What followed was not an attack, but a firm intervention.
In his message, Awuzie described Harrison as someone gifted with rare likability and grace, qualities that have helped him survive scandals that might have permanently ended others. Yet, he warned that such grace should not be abused.
His first advice was simple but difficult: public accountability. According to him, genuine apologies and sincere repentance could still open doors, because Nigerians are often willing to forgive when remorse is real.
He also addressed what he believes is the core issue—financial indiscipline. Drawing from his own experiences, Awuzie emphasized that integrity often comes at a high cost. He spoke about refunding tens of millions of naira across different ventures and maintaining strict boundaries between personal and business finances, even when it meant personal discomfort. His message to Harrison was blunt: debts must be refunded, and transparency is no longer optional.
Beyond money, Awuzie highlighted the dangers of misplaced priorities. He suggested that trying to shoulder heavy family responsibilities, pursue political relevance, and maintain public influence without stable skills or businesses creates a cycle of pressure and failure. His advice was to pause, rebuild, acquire real skills, and focus on personal growth, including education, family stability, and long-term structure.
Perhaps the most striking part of the message was Awuzie’s offer of free mentorship. At a time when many would distance themselves to protect their image, he openly offered guidance, stressing that transformation is possible with discipline and accountability. In closing, Awuzie framed his message as one of second chances, not public shaming. He also asked his followers to share the message. Whether Harrison Gwamnishu takes this path, however, remains to be seen by the public.
