Popular social media activist VeryDarkMan has reacted strongly to a recent interview granted by Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, concerning the controversial airstrike in Sokoto State allegedly carried out by the United States.
In a video shared this morning, VeryDarkMan responded to a clip where the minister was asked by journalists about the airstrike, which the government has described as a joint operation between Nigeria and the United States against an ISIS terrorist camp.

VeryDarkMan questioned the government’s explanation, asking why Nigerian security forces did not act on the intelligence themselves if they truly had the location of the terrorists. According to him, “So you had the intelligence and knew where these terrorists were, but you couldn’t go after them yourself?” He went further to accuse the government of underestimating Nigerians’ intelligence, asking, “Do you think Nigerians are stupid?”
He also challenged claims that the airstrike was carried out with full cooperation, clearance, and coordination from the Nigerian Army. VeryDarkMan suggested that the official story might not be entirely true and described it as a possible attempt at damage control.
According to his argument, the airstrike may have been carried out without Nigeria’s knowledge or approval, and the government could be trying to cover it up to prevent panic among citizens. He claimed that Nigerians deserve to know the full truth about what happened, especially on matters relating to national security and foreign military involvement.
VeryDarkMan also raised concerns about Nigeria’s sovereignty, questioning whether the United States was bullying Nigeria or acting independently without respect for the country’s military authority.
He insisted that the government should stop “playing with the intelligence of Nigerians” and be honest about the situation. In the video, he demanded that the authorities release video footage of the airstrike and provide clear evidence to back up their claims of collaboration.
According to him, transparency is the only way to regain public trust and reassure Nigerians that the country’s security is not being compromised.
As of the time of writing, the Nigerian government and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have not issued any direct response to VeryDarkMan’s claims. However, the video has ignited widespread debate online, with many Nigerians calling for clearer explanations and accountability regarding the Sokoto airstrike.
