The long running conflict between social critic Very Dark Man (VDM) and media personality Mr Jollof took a dramatic turn this week after both men were filmed in a heated confrontation aboard a commercial flight. The video, which circulated widely on social media, showed the two exchanging words in the cabin as passengers watched in confusion.

The incident immediately raised safety concerns, and the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority has stepped in. The NCAAโs Director of Public Affairs, Michael Achimugu, issued a firm statement condemning the behaviour displayed during the mid air confrontation. Achimugu said he first saw the viral video while he was also airborne on another flight and immediately contacted officials to begin gathering details.
He requested the name of the airline and the exact flight information so that the agency could initiate full checks, noting that every airline is mandated to report such incidents for regulatory action. Achimugu did not soften his stance, calling the behaviour of both men โunacceptableโ and โa serious threat to passenger and aircraft safety.โ

According to him, there is no tolerance for unruly behaviour aboard any aircraft, and anyone who disrupts a flight environment will face strict consequences under civil aviation regulations. He also questioned whether the pilot offloaded the men before takeoff or allowed the flight to continue, warning that if they remained onboard, the airline itself could face sanctions for failing to follow required safety procedures.
Achimugu expressed disappointment that both individuals, who often speak publicly about discipline and accountability, were involved in conduct that violated aviation safety rules. He confirmed that more details would be released once the NCAA receives the formal incident report from the airline.
Legal Tension Heightens Between Both Men

The clash adds a new layer to the already messy feud between VDM and Mr Jollof. Before the flight incident, the conflict centred around allegations and counter allegations shared online. VDM had previously accused Mr Jollofโs wife of improper conduct, claims that Mr Jollof described as defamatory and damaging to his family. The media personality went on to file a writ of summons demanding that VDM appear in court within a specified period to defend his statements.
VDM responded by mocking the legal notice and standing by his earlier claims. He also accused Mr Jollof of exposing his private residential address online, saying he had to leave his home for his own safety. The tension between both men escalated through videos and live streams before it spilled into the flight cabin this week.
The viral footage shows passengers attempting to remain calm as the confrontation unfolded. No physical altercation took place, but the intensity of the exchange was enough to prompt concerns about safety, cabin discipline and the authority of flight crew. Aviation experts note that even verbal disturbance can qualify as unruly behaviour if it threatens calm or distracts crew members who are responsible for passenger safety.
With the NCAA now involved, the situation has moved from social media drama to a regulatory matter. While both men have large followings and are known for outspoken commentary, the events aboard the aircraft have placed them under closer scrutiny. The final outcome will depend on the airlineโs official report and the NCAAโs interpretation of the incident in line with existing laws.
As passengers continue to react to the viral clip, the aviation authority maintains that such behaviour cannot be ignored, especially at a time when safety in the skies remains a top priority.
