The much-anticipated fifth edition of the New Media Conference Debate, which held on the 17th
of October 2025, was, without a doubt, a projection of how brilliant the upcoming generations
are and how well they can apply developing technology to new media.

The event, which held at the school hall of Command Day Secondary School (CDSS), TA
Lagbaja Military Cantonement, featured eight schools, including Federal Science and Technical
College, Aestomic Secondary School, Ronik Comprehensive School, Great Oak College, St.
Graags College, CMS Grammar School, Command Day Secondary School, Ikeja, and
International School University of Lagos.

With a vision to continue the impact from this debate, the convener officially announced the
launch date for her initiative, the Supergal Foundation, set for December 2025. Through this
foundation, Oluwatosin Ajibade, a longstanding philanthropic enthusiast, aims to empower
widows and young children with both digital and vocational skills required for their sustenance.
She called on the distinguished guest of the debate to support the Supergal Foundation to
create sustainable impact.

The Commandant, Lt. Col. S.O. Omoyeni, welcomed the guests to the debate, commending
how events like this debate are beneficial to young students, as it allows them to share their
thoughts on various topics and evaluate how it can affect the choices they make.
For this auspicious event, the distinguished panel of judges included professionals in media,
entertainment, and academia who ensured a level playing field for all the student
representatives of each school, allowing for more fairness in performance grading and accurate
results.
On the panel sat Dr Chike Mgbeadichie of the Media Department at the Pan Atlantic University,
Lagos, Joseph Onaolapo, popular Media presenter, content creator, and event host (also
popularly known as JAY ON AIR, and Mr Casmir Uwaegbute, CEO of Caspertainment.

The official host for the debate, Founder and Managing Director of Yellow Tamarind
Productions, Isabella Adedeji, ensured that all three rounds of the debate went smoothly. And at
the end of the event, three schools were applauded as the winners of the debate. St Graags
College emerged as the overall winner, the International School University of Lagos came in as
first runner-up, and CMS Grammar School, Bariga, took the position of second runner-up.
The New Media Conference debate 2025 was sponsored by OloriSuperGal Media, UAC Foods,
Gala Chinchin, Supreme, Swan Table Water, and RiteFoods.

In all, as the CSR Offshoot of the tenth edition of the New Media Conference, the debate
definitely fulfilled its purpose, providing a platform for these young individuals to engage in
critical discussions about AI and new media and be recognized for their contributions.
