The holiday season just got more exciting for movie lovers as FilmOne Entertainment officially announced it has acquired exclusive distribution rights to Niyi Akinmolayan’s highly anticipated Christmas feature, Colours of Fire. The film, a collaboration between Anthill Studios and FilmOne Studios, is set to hit cinemas nationwide on December 24, 2025.

According to verified updates from The Lagos Review and PM Express, Colours of Fire brings together some of Nollywood’s biggest names including Osas Ighodaro, Uzor Arukwe, Femi Branch, Mercy Aigbe, and Gabriel Afolayan. The movie promises a vibrant and emotional story built around themes of love, forgiveness, and family; the perfect blend for a festive blockbuster.

Kene Okwuosa, Group CEO of Filmhouse Group, described the film as “a bold step forward for Nollywood storytelling,” noting that the project aligns with FilmOne’s vision of elevating African cinema on a global scale. He praised Akinmolayan’s creative direction and the production quality, saying the film would leave a lasting impression on audiences across Nigeria.

Director Niyi Akinmolayan is known for hit titles like The Wedding Party 2 and The House of Secrets, and he has hinted that Colours of Fire will showcase a richer visual palette and deeper emotional arcs. He described the movie as “a story that feels like home but looks like the world,” promising something uniquely Nigerian yet universally relatable.
