Actress Eniola Badmus has come under intense scrutiny after posting photos suggesting she delivered a speech at the 2025 United Nations General Assembly in New York. In the Instagram post she shared that she spoke on “innovation, gender inclusion & partnerships for a sustainable energy future,” and expressed gratitude for attending the Future Africa Forum held at The Africa Center. 

However some users on social media were quick to challenge her claim. Several critics pointed out that the images she posted were actually taken at the Nigerian Embassy in New York, not at the UNGA event. Many said she did not address the UN General Assembly at all.  Social media users described the claim as “clout chasing” and said it was misleading. 

Public Reactions and Skepticism

Reactions have ranged from skepticism to outright criticism. One person wrote that the topic she claimed to speak on sounded “well for your ear,” implying it was too grand for what they believed to be false.  Others mocked the visuals of the post, pointing out what they believed were inconsistencies in location and setting.  Some defended her, saying social media tends to amplify every post and often misinterpret images. 

So far Eniola Badmus has not offered further comment to clarify the alleged discrepancy about where and whether she spoke at the UNGA.
