Ini Edo Shares Emotional Tribute and Thank You Message After Her Father’s Burial

After her father, Elder Jonathan Ekim Edo, was successfully buried, Nollywood actress Ini Edo took to social media to convey her sincere appreciation.

The actress and her siblings buried her father in their birthplace of Akwa Ibom State last Friday, March 21, after announcing his death in February.

Notable members of the entertainment business such as Rita Dominic, Nancy Isime, Ruth Kadiri, Uche Jombo, Real Warri Pikin, IK Ogbonna, Lilian Afegbai, and Desmond Elliot attended the funeral.

In a heartfelt Instagram post, Ini characterised her father as a man who was incredibly devoted to God, vibrant, and the lifeblood of any event.

She expressed her profound gratitude to the Akwa Ibom State government and people for their unwavering love and support during the time of bereavement.

Along with her friends, coworkers, and well-wishers who supported her and her family during this difficult period, she also praised the state’s most recent governor.

As she thought back on the difficulties her family had encountered—financially, physically, and spiritually—Ini recognised the strong principles their father taught them: love, resiliency, unity, and respect for God.

Ini Edo said she was glad of her family’s unity in honouring their patriarch and felt they had made him proud.

See post below:

“To the glory of God, we gave our father a funeral befitting for a man after God’s heart, A lover of life, and the heart of the part.

A special thank you to the good people and Government of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency Gov Umo Eno and our Amiable Deputy Governor, Her Excellency Akon Eyakenyi. For your support and show of love. My family and I, are forever grateful

To my immediate Past Governor, His Excellency Udom Emmanuel, My own uncle and His entire family. Words cannot express how elated we are that you graced us with your esteemed presence and support throughout this trying time. May God continue to bless and preserve you and your entire household.

To my adorable colleagues and friends. Y’all made me so proud and emotional. Considering the present state of the economy and your very busy schedules, y’all showed up and out for me.

Life feels a little easier and a lot brighter with friends like you. Thank you for always showing up, for standing by me, and for being the kind of person I can always count on. I don’t take it for granted.”

And to my dearest family, since Daddy passed in December, we have been challenged spiritually, physically and financially. I am grateful for the upbringing of love, resilience, fear of God and togetherness instilled in us by our parents that kept us going and level-headed through it all. I am so proud of us, and I am sure we made Daddy proud. I pray we all live in Good health, and may our children have the privilege of doing the same for us when the time is right.
