The Minister of State Petroleum Resources, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, took a significant step towards resolving the recent challenges surrounding the Dangote Refinery by convening a high-level meeting with key stakeholders, according to a statement issued by his Special Adviser Media and Communication, Nneamaka Okafor.
The meeting, held on Monday, brought together industry heavyweights including Mr. Aliko Dangote, Chairman and CEO of Dangote Group; Mr. Farouk Ahmed, CEO of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA); Mr. Gbenga Komolafe, CEO of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC); and Mr. Mele Kyari, Group CEO of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC).
The focus of the discussions was to find a “sustainable and lasting solution” to the current issues impacting the Dangote Refinery. All parties reportedly expressed a commitment to collaborative problem-solving, with Minister Lokpobiri emphasizing the importance of cooperation and synergy across the oil and gas sector.
This move by the Minister is seen as a positive step towards ensuring the successful launch and optimal performance of the Dangote Refinery, a project crucial for Nigeria’s economic growth and energy security.
