Genevieve Nnaji is celebrating four decades plus five more on Earth and she looks beyond incredible!
The ageless beauty, although very private and barely a social media person, has fans who are celebrating her all over social media while handing her some flowers for a stellar career.
Some accolades Genevieve Nnaji has received throughout her career of more than 30 years and featuring in over 100 movies include the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role in 2005, the Black Reel Award for Outstanding Foreign Film for her movie, Lion Heart in 2019, amongst others.
The Nigerian Oscars Selection Committee (NOSC) chose her film Lionheart in 2019 to represent Nigeria in the Best International Feature Film category of the 2020 Oscars. It was the first Nigerian film ever to be submitted to the Oscars.
The Oscar submission was subsequently cancelled due to its failure to meet the language criteria. The majority of the conversation in the movie is spoken in English. Nonetheless, since 2006, the Oscar regulations have stipulated that films that qualify must feature a “Predominantly non-English dialogue track.” The goal of this action was to provide more platforms for films with a multicultural cast.
Happy Birthday, Genevieve!
