Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno, has ordered the return of makeup artist Abigail Frederick’s body to the state for a dignified burial.
Abigail Frederick lost her life in a boat disaster that claimed the lives of Nollywood star, Junior Pope and several other crew members on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, while returning from a movie set in Anambra State, Nigeria.
This directive was contained in a communique signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ekerete Udoh, via his X account on Saturday, April 13, 2024.
The governor, who described Frederick as a bright example of the state’s youth who rose to take on the path to success, expressed his profound grief over her passing.
On Thursday, April 11, 2024, it was reported that Abigail Fredrick’s body was allegedly buried by the river bank since her father had not been able to secure the necessary funds for several traditional rites.
Until her untimely passing, Abigail Frederick was a makeup artist in the Nigerian movie industry and hailed from the oil-rich South-South side, Akwa Ibom State.
