Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan clinched her third consecutive Diamond League title, triumphing in the women’s 100m hurdles at the Eugene Diamond League event.
The 26-year-old athlete, who recently lost her world title in Budapest, Hungary, staged a remarkable comeback to claim victory against a formidable field of competitors, including Jasmine Camacho-Quinn, Keni Harrison, and Danielle Williams.
Amusan’s performance reached new heights as she clocked a season’s best time of 12.33 seconds, showcasing her mastery of the hurdles.
Camacho-Quinn of Puerto Rico followed closely in second place, recording a time of 12.38 seconds, while the United States’ Keni Harrison secured the third spot with a time of 12.44 seconds.
Tobi Amusan’s achievement in securing three consecutive Diamond League titles in the 100m hurdles event is a historic milestone. She becomes only the second woman to accomplish this feat, emulating Dawn Harper-Nelson, who achieved the same feat in 2012, 2023, and 2014.
In another notable performance for Nigeria, Ese Brume excelled in the Long Jump event, securing the second position behind Serbia’s Ivana Vuleta.
