TeleGeography, a Washington-based telecom market research and consulting firm has reported South Africa as the leading country in Africa to adopt the 5G network.
The report states that South Africa has the most significant progress in deploying the 5G network. An estimate of 5 million subscriptions was recorded at the end of 2022.
Botswana, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Zambia are the other African countries that have also launched 5G services.
Saudi Arabia remains the leading market with over 11.2 million users at the end of 2022.
