Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s Drops First Work of Fiction Since Americanah

Anyone who has been holding their breath for more of Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s sweeping fiction since her 2013 epic immigration novel Americanah can officially exhale.

Zikora, was released on October 27, this is Adichie’s first work of fiction since Americanah.

The standalone fictional work, explores one woman’s bumpy road to motherhood.

It tells the story of Zikora, a Nigerian lawyer living in Washington D.Cย  grappling not only with a pregnancy, after her equally high-powered lover abandoned her on getting to know about it, but also with the loss of her relationship;ย  while her demanding mother shows up to โ€œhelpโ€ prepare her for motherhood.

The novel is available on Amazon Original Stories, and is free for Amazon Prime and Kindle Unlimited subscribers. Zikora is available to purchase for non-subscribers, too.
