Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele and her husband, Abdulrasheed Bello, aka JJC Skillz have been granted a pardon by the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu following their offence of defying Coronavirus lockdown rules four months ago.

Babajide Sanwo-Olu also approved the release of 56 inmates from various correctional centers in Lagos State.

A statement signed by the State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Moyosore Onigbanjo, SAN, indicated that the State Governor took this action on the basis on the recommendations of the State Advisory Council on Prerogative of Mercy, under the powers conferred on the Governor by Section 212 (1) & (2) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended.
