American singer, Alicia Keys, recently left social media users emotional after she shared a heartbreaking letter she sent to her absentee father, Craig Cook when she was 14.

The 39-year-old, took to her Instagram page to share the letter in a video in which she admitted that his ’empty promises affected her deeply.’ 

In the video’s voiceover, Alicia explained that the letter did not begin with “dear dad” or even “dear Craig” but simply with the date in the upper left hand corner, which was dated July 10, 1994. She went on to pour out her heart which she admitted was filled with bitterness towards him.
