The 61st Grammy Awards is here, and is set to feature a host of diverse performances, including from Afrobeat sensation Seun Kuti.
Seun Kuti, who is nominated for Best World Music Album will perform alongside Malian singer/songwriter, Fatoumata Diawara, at the award’s Premiere Ceremony in February 10 at the Staples Center, Los Angeles, U.S.
He is also nominated for an award in the World Music category for his album, Black Times. Others nominated in the category are Bombino (Deran), Fatoumata Diawara (Fenfo), Soweto Gospel Choir (Freedom) and Yiddish Glory (The Lost Songs of World War II).
Seun’s fourth album, Black Times was released in March 2018, debuted at number eight on the Billboard World Music Chart in the first week of its release.
Seun’s follows the footstep of his brother, Femi Kuti who has been nominated four times – in 2003, 2010, 2012 and 2013 respectively.
