Harry Potter actor, Robert Hardly has died at the age of 91.
According to The Guardian, his children, Emma, Justine and Paul announced his death in a statement saying: “Gruff, elegant, twinkly, and always dignified, he is celebrated by all who knew him and loved him, and everyone who enjoyed his work.”
The veteran actor played Cornelius Fudge, the Minister for Magic, in four parts of the Harry Potter movies.
The actor whose theatre, film and television career spanned 70 years, was also popular for playing Winston Churchill on stage.
He also starred as Siegfried Farnon in All Creatures Great and Small for 12 years.
J.K. Rowling who wrote the books which were adapted in the Harry Potter movies also confirmed his death. She took to her Twitter page to mourn the actor.
“So very sad to hear about Robert Hardy. He was such a talented actor and everybody who worked with him on Potter loved him.”
