In an inspiring Instagram post last night, Lady Gaga responds to body shamers who thought they needed to comment on her stomach after her badass Super Bowl 51Halftime Show performance. Not her talent, but the non-existent “fat” on her stomach. “I just feel like #Gaga’s dough belly should’ve been tucked in better,” a Twitter user wrote. Another said, “Lady Gaga had a little gut in her. It’s the Super Bowl not the Super Roll.” (I’m rolling my eyes so hard right now.) You wouldn’t expect Gaga to be silent after all this, would you?
“I heard my body is a topic of conversation so I wanted to say, I’m proud of my body and you should be proud of yours too,” she wrote on Instagram. Leave it to the body-positive, feminist, LGBTQ+ activist to make her body shaming a lesson for us all. She could have just said a big “fuck you” to everyone who said gross things about her body, TBH.
