Manchester United suffered a shock defeat at the hands of Sunderland at the Stadium of the light today.
The match looked certain to end in a draw which would have been generous to both sides but Kone’s header slipped right under David De Gea’s arm to give Sunderland a late winner.
Sunderland had shown the sign of things to come when they scored a 3rd minute goal courtesy of Wahbi Khazri.
The only positive for Manchester United was a goal for Anthony Martial which saw the match tied at 1-1 until Sunderland scored from a corner kick in the 82nd minute.
Today’s result sees Manchester United’s remain in fifth position until West Ham play.
United’s head coach, Louis Van Gaal is under increasing pressure amid rumors that Jose Mourinho is in talks with the United board.
It is doubtful he will survive till the end of the season if more results are solar to today’s.
