The Nigerian Dream Team VI have been crowned the CAF U-23 Champions.
Despite a shaky defense and a seeming inability to keep a clean sheet, the Dream Team VI beat Algeria 2-1 in the final encounter yesterday.
The Dream team VI took the lead through a penalty by Peter Etebo in the 14th minute.
Nigeria’s defensive sloppiness cost them in the 30th minute when Segun Tope scored an own goal.
In a frantic first half, Peter Etebo eventually grabbed his brace to put Nigeria ahead.
Nigeria had goalkeeper Daniel Emmanuel to thank for keeping out a penalty in the 68th minute.
