You know how we love to highlight youths that are making changes in their environment and beyond, well, here’s one Smart woman – Arese Ugwu – the woman behind the smart money movement….
Let’s get to know more about this phenomenal woman:
Arese is the founder of a personal finance blog (www.smartmoneyafrica.org), a platform that provides high quality content and action tools tailored to Africans. She does this to help change the African narrative of poverty by educating her generation and the next via financial literacy content that breaks down the very complex issue of money. Arese’s articles have also been published in several media outlets and she often speaks about financial literacy and entrepreneurship at various conferences, workshops, universities and radio.
She is the Head of Wealth Management at Partnership Investment Plc., responsible for building the company’s wealth management division, through business development and growing existing client relationships.
She sits on the boards of Partnership Securities Ltd (a subsidiary of the group), House of Tara International Ltd and The Nigeria Higher Education Foundation as a non-executive director and is an associate member of WIMBIZ (Women in Management Business & Public Service).
Arese holds an M.Sc. in Economic Development from University College London (UCL) and a B.Sc. in Business and Management from Aston Business School, Birmingham. She is also an alumna of the of the Lagos Business School, INSEAD Abu Dhabi and The London School of Business executive education programs.

I am passionate about my amazing daughter Zikora! Anyone who knows me (or follows me on instagram lol!) knows that my beautiful daughter is the centre of my universe.. My fear of being broke and hungry in adulthood multiplied after I had Her.She became my no 1 motivation to work harder and BE better because it is extremely important to me to provide a better life for her than my parents did for me. (and they provided a pretty great one).
