In 2012, the United Nations Foundation designated the first Tuesday in December of every year as #GivingTuesday as a day to engender and celebrate generosity on a global scale. #GivingTuesday is also a way of expressing gratitude for the gift of life, and for all the progress recorded in the outgoing year. Since it was initiated, #GivingTuesday has become a global event, celebrated in all parts of the world. Worldwide, the movement is endorsed, supported and promoted by political, social and business leaders, who come together every year to champion massively successful fund-raising for community development.
#GivingTuesday in Nigeria (#GivingTuesdayNg) is an initiative of the Committee Encouraging Corporate Philanthropy (CECP-Nigeria) and will be observed along with the rest of the world on Tuesday December 8th, 2015 with the CECP’s #GivingTuesdayNG Charity Concert taking place, at The Convention Center, Eko Hotels and Suites by 4PM Prompt.
