Former Adamawa State governor, Murtala Nyako as well as his son have been remanded in Prison custody by a ruling of a Federal High court. Murtala Nyako and his son are in court facing charges of money laundering brought against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Murtala Nyako was impeached in July 2014 by the Adamawa state House of Assembly on charges of financial misconduct while serving his second term as governor.
Nyako and his son in the 37 count charge are accused of using state funds to develop a private estate. It is expected that Nyako will tender an application for bail tomorrow.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission have recently been hot on the heels of former governors, having arrested former Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji. Sule Lamido and his son yesterday.
Former Imo State governor, Ikedi Ohakim is equally facing money laundering charges.
