In response to questions from the press as to how winners emerged, Mr. Joshua Uwabor, Head Corporate communications; Emagez Solutions buttressed that the Nigeria Entrepreneur Award passed through a three phase scrutiny process which includes short listing of nominees through a public call for nomination, assessment and scoring by a panel of expert judges and opinion leaders from various sectors of the economy including stakeholders, civil society and the media; and finally the judging and selection of winners which comprised a judging panel of about 20 business professionals and consultants.
Mr Uwabor Joshua also hinted that with over 1600 nominations received, due to the high standard of the award, less than 10 per cent of all entries will be receiving an award, owing to the fact that the judging process follows a fixed standard based on set of criterion.
Speaking further, Mr. Joshua stated that “the award recipients will be drawn from entrepreneurs in areas of Agriculture, Automobile, Aviation, Banking, Clothing and textile, Construction, Delivery/logistics, Education, Energy, Environment and waste, Forestry and paper, Healthcare and pharmaceuticals, ICT- information and communication technology, Insurance, Manufacturing, Media, Mining and metals, Oil and gas, Public sector entity, Sports, Telecommunications, Tourism and leisure, Transportation, Utilities, as well as those who have contributed to the advancement of entrepreneurship development in Nigeria”.

This in turn, will establish a valuable resource that can be used extensively to create opportunities for publicity, positive organizational profiling and heightened brand awareness within the respective industries both nationally and internationally.
No doubt the Nigeria Entrepreneur Award promises to be the biggest gathering of entrepreneurs in the history of awards and recognition in Nigeria. Recipients will have the opportunity of rubbing minds with counterparts from other parts of the country as well as create a platform for networking.
