The second day of the Lagos Jazz series took place on Saturday November 17, 2012 at the Federal Palace Hotel, leaving a lifetime of memory in the lucky attendants.
Nigeria Idol (season 2) second runner up, Steve Onu opened the stage with his ‘lover boy‘ Jazz music, treating audience to an unforgettable music experience. His performance get the deserved appreciation when he delivered his ‘I LOVE‘ track.
While audience were still trying to overcome the excitement of Steve ‘the lover boy’, the anchor introduces another female sensational artiste, Kaline.
Kaline, operating the keyboard on her own, she successfully gave Jazz music a meaning with her single track titled ‘Stranger’, a track she said to have done six months earlier.
Next was the Gongo Aso musician 9ICE, known for his powerful lyrical delivery and unique style of music, he introduces his presence with his popular Gongo Aso single, but this time, not in the party way, Gongo Aso got a Jazz tone.
‘its not easy to do jazz o’, that was 9ice’s confession after his first delivery but as expected, Bashorun Gaa as fondly called overcame the strange experience, doing his Street Credibility better than the first delivery. At the end, 9ice was able to convince audience that been a Jazz musician could be really ‘Nice’
Another Notable artiste who graced the stage was Ghanian singer Becca, doing two classic songs, one from her single with MI titled ‘No Way’ and artiste a twist of Bob Marley ‘No woman No cry’, Becca wooed male audience with a song titled ‘No man, No cry‘
‘I felt its necessary to have the male version of the song since both genders are believed to be equal‘, she said while asked her reason for twisting the title.
The atmosphere wouldn’t have been a complete one without the performance of Four Play. The superb delivery of Jazz music, professional performance of instrumentals for more than 50 minutes makes the money paid for the event worthy.
Four play thrilled audience with their Unique, classical, professional and deep instrumental music, starting from the drums through the last music instrument one can think of.
