In line with delivering top notch entertainment and urban lifestyle content, Bubbles Magazine announces the release of their October edition, covered by none other than the wonderful wonder woman, Omawumi.
The gorgeous diva is in a class of her own, her talent the only thing superior to her famed looks. Her second album came out earlier in the year and only took her career right beyond what was assumed to be the pinnacle.
Omawumi took time out ot her busy schedule to share with thoughts, hopes and aspirations for the future, while we snuck in a quick photoshoot. She was styled by Maryanne Alabi and photography was done by Moussa Moussa.
Among the things we discussed with her is her stance on social causes. In her words:
“Most of the causes I champion are on issues that are close to my heart. For instance, child abuse and molestation, circumcision of the female genitalia, and even child trafficking; abuse generally rubs me the wrong way. Anything I can do and any way I can help to prevent stuff like that, I will come out to make my voice heard. For instance, yesterday I was driving past when I saw a traffic law enforcement officer whose duty it is to prevent hawking on the road. Apparently he had caught a young girl hawking. I’m not saying I support the fact that she hawks, but then he wanted sexual gratification from her so he could let her go free. I didn’t even know that was what was transpiring between them but then I saw her pleading with him. I stopped to intervene and he told me to mind my business that he was only carrying out his duties. We have to kick out things like this from our society so if you hear me sing about this one day, don’t be surprised because that girl and a million others like her, are helpless and have no platform to voice out the ordeals they are faced with.”
Also in this edition we celebrate the man many refer to as a pioneer and trendsetter, DJ Jimmy Jatt. With his successful career and uncommon longevity, he shows us that nothing is impossible with a little ambition, dedication and a lot of hard work.
Along with spotlight features on Seyi Shay, Naeto C, Drake, Maleek Berry, OC Ukeje among others, this edition promises to be a worthwhile coverage of urban entertainment and lifestyle.
Bubbles is available on newsstand and, vendors nationwide as well as Patabah Bookshops Surulere, Glendora Ikeja Mall and Ozone Cinemas.
