Ruhila Adatia-Sood’s beautiful life was ended suddenly through a tragic attack at the Westgate Mall on Saturday 21st of September 2013.
Westgate terror attack victim Ruhila Adatia Sood was Thursday laid to rest in a brief, simple affair with minimal media involvement.
A sombre mood engulfed Aga Khan Pavilion complex where the mourners clad in white garments chanted prayers for the renowned radio and TV personality journalist.
White is the colour of mourning for the Ismailis. There were no eulogies or tributes.
The journalist was later buried at the Ismaili Cemetery in Kariokor according to the Ismaili customs.
Among those who paid their last respects were Kisumu East member of Parliament Shakeel Shabir and American ambassador to Kenya Robert Godec.
Curious onlookers also followed the proceedings at the cemetery at around 10.00am.
The radio personality was at the rooftop parking lot of the Westgate mall where she was hosting a cookery competition for children at the time of the terrorist attack.
A few hours after she arrived at the mall, the Radio Africa Group presenter posted several photographs on her Instagram account and linked that to her Twitter account.
