Patrick Anyaene, the CEO and Founder of Golden Boy Entertainment(GBE), the former music label of Nigerian artiste, Peruzzi, still had a lot to say about his fallout with the singer.
In a recent interview with the hosts of ‘Taris Corner’ on Abuja Prime TV, the music executive resurrects the conversation surrounding his fallout with his former signee, Peruzzi.
Anyaene alleged that Peruzzi had a hand in the destruction of his relationship with Nigerian artist and fellow label owner, Davido. “He got the opportunity to hang around Davido and then instead of fostering the relationship between the two labels, Peruzzi started telling Davido lies about me just to ruin my image before David”, he added.
Patrick Anyaene also revealed that he signed Peruzzi to his music label on a two-year contract in November 2016, which was supposed to expire in 2019. However, he(Patrick Anyaene)came down with some health issues and needed to undergo surgery in the United Kingdom in 2017.
According to him (Patrick Anyaene), Peruzzi allegedly saw his trip out of Nigeria as an opportunity to link with Davido, hereby, getting his projects released under Davido’s label and imprint, Davido Music Worldwide, and breaching the contract with Golden Boy Entertainment.
The war between Patrick Anyaene and Peruzzi can be traced back to 2018 when the former first cried out on social media about an alleged breach of contract from Peruzzi. The social media fight got worse, as Patrick allegedly accused Peruzzi of giving records belonging to himself and his label to Davido.
He said in 2018, “Songs like Fia, Ada, Mind by DMW, Aje by DMW, and other songs they might be working on now are all properties of Golden Boy Entertainment”.
However, he clarified after the social media call-out, that Davido reached out to him for a conversation on how settlements and rewards would be distributed.
However, in a surprising turn of events, Anyaene later reveals that Davido has been unable to meet with him regarding the situation and the way forward from the drama.
Fast forward to 2020, in a 17-tweet thread, the music executive resumes his call out of Davido and his former signee, Peruzzi, with the hashtag, #SurvivingPeruzzi. He gave a detailed narration of his relationship with Peruzzi and how they got to the point they were at.
Additionally, he released some chats between himself and Davido, where the latter confirmed that Peruzzi was not officially signed to DMW and that he (Davido) was just “helping a brother”.
