Paul Onwuanibe, CEO of Landmark Africa Group, has revealed the devastating impact of the sudden demolition of Landmark Leisure Beach.
The $30 million investment, built over 27 years, was wiped out in six hours, leaving over 1,000 employees and 50 SMEs displaced.
“This was my life’s work. We borrowed $30 million for infrastructure—drainage, water systems, fiber optics—gone in a flash,” he said on The KK Show.
The demolition also disrupted services for 160,000 members and invalidated 200 contracts, with ripple effects on local businesses and jobs.
Despite the loss, Onwuanibe remains determined to rebuild. The government claimed the site encroached on federal Right-of-Way.
