Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu marked a momentous occasion at the completion ceremony of the GAC Car Assembly Plant in Lagos. He praised the partnership between Lagos State and CIG Motors, calling it a pivotal step towards greater industrialization, job creation, and technical training for the people of Lagos.
Sanwo-Olu noted that the partnership flourished despite the challenges of the pandemic, giving birth to the GAC Motor Nigeria CKD factory and aiding the growth and expansion of the LAGRIDE project. He said that these initiatives signify Lagos State’s commitment to progress, innovation, and the betterment of the state.

The governor also highlighted the opening of the Vehicle Assembly Plant as a glowing emblem of Lagos State’s openness to investments that foster job creation, skill development, wealth creation, and entrepreneurial opportunities. He said that the ripple effect of this investment extends far beyond the automotive sector, ushering in a new era of employment and significantly reducing unemployment in Lagos.
Sanwo-Olu expressed confidence that the GAC Assembly Plant will create more jobs and bolster technical skills among the workforce, contributing to the growth of Lagos State’s IGR and ensuring a more prosperous future for the state. He said that Lagos State is committed to building a brighter future for all its citizens, and the GAC Assembly Plant is a key part of that vision.
