The crown gold ring, famously worn by the late American rapper and actor, Tupac Amaru Shakur, has been sold for a staggering $1 million in a recent New York auction.
Tupac sported the ring during his final public appearance at the MTV Video Music Awards in September 1996.
Provided to the auction house by Tupac’s godmother, Yaasmyn Fula, the ring holds special significance, as it was custom-designed for him in New York City after his release from jail and subsequent signing with Death Row Records. Inscribed with the words “Pac & Dada 1996” on its side, the ring is a unique piece of his history.
According to reports from the New York Post, the ring, crafted from gold, rubies, and diamond crowns, has become the most valuable hip-hop artifact ever to be sold.
Tragically, Tupac’s life was cut short at the young age of 25 on September 13, 1996, when he was fatally shot by an unidentified assailant in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas
