President Bola Ahmed Tinubu engaged in a closed-door meeting on Wednesday with Pius Anyim, former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and Olisa Metuh, former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The meeting took place at the Presidential Villa.
Arriving together, Metuh and Anyim proceeded directly to the president’s office for the private discussion. Anyim, who aspired to be the PDP presidential candidate for the upcoming 2023 elections, joined forces with Metuh, who resigned from the party in October 2022.
At the time of reporting, the specifics of the meeting remained undisclosed. However, it is worth noting that this gathering coincides with President Tinubu’s preparation to submit a list of ministerial nominations to the Senate for screening.
Since assuming office on May 29, 2023, President Tinubu has been receiving various individuals, including members of the major opposition party and the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP). Among those who have met with Tinubu are Rabiu Kwankwaso, the NNPP’s flag bearer in the previous election.
