Fathers play a crucial role in a child’s life, providing emotional support, guidance, and often serving as a role model. Their involvement and presence can have a significant impact on a child’s development and overall well-being.
Over the years in the Nigerian scene we have seen fathers who set the pace in their respective occupations creating the necessary springboard for their offsprings to take off on.
We take a quick look at some of these notable figures who decided to follow the footsteps of their father and also succeed while at it.
The Salami Family
Salami Adebayo also known as Oga Bello is a notable Nigerian actor, filmmaker, producer and director in the Nollywood industry. He is a proud father of 18 children with 9 sons and 9 daughters. Out of his 18 children, two decided to follow in footsteps and also become professional actors.
Femi Adebayo and Tope Adebayo also very popular characters when it comes to the big screen. Tope is known for his hilarious role as “Wedee” in the popular Jenifa series, while Femi recently got nominated for best actor in a movie at the 9th edition of the Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards for his role as Agesinkole in the Drama-Thriller King of Thieves (Agesinkole). They both have also featured in other notable films and acted alongside their father in some of these movies.
The Falana Family
Femi Falana is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and a notable human right activist in the country. A father of three with every member of his family the family having a background in the law field of study.
Folakemi Falana who is an entertainment lawyer is the first child of Femi Falana and Funmi Falana and is closely followed by Folarin Falana also known as Falz, who also majored in law before delving into music full time.
Foladele Falana is the last offspring of Femi and Funmi’s marital bliss and although she is a professional broadcater with TVC Communications, she also has roots with the Law field of study.
Femi Falana’s influence is highly noticeable as every member of his family use their professional platforms to fight for the rights of the people.

The Uwaifo family
Victor Uwaifo was a legendary musician and songwriter, popularly known for his hit track “Joromi” which he released in 1965. Victor was exceptional with how he played instruments, he could play the flute, piano and was a master on the guitar.
Victor Uwaifo’s son Alexander Uwaifo popularly known as Andre Vibez (London) has proven to be one who has an ear for good sound. Alexander has gone on to produce some of the biggest jams in the country; “Feelings” by Ladipoe ft Buju, Rema’s “Calm Down” Mavin’s “Won Da Mo” and the list goes on and on.
It only goes to say the Alexander still carries the musical ingenuity of his father Victor Uwaifo.
The Edochie Family
Pete Edochie is a veteran when it comes to acting in the Nigeria movie industry. He is often known for his prestigious traditional presence and voice of wisdom in his characterization in movies. Pete Edochie is a father of six children, five boys and a girl, and out of the six only two followed in Pete Edochie’s theatrical steps.
Yul Edochie and Lincoln Edochie are the two sons who decided to follow in their their father’s ways. Lincoln who is the the third child of Pete started acting professionally in 1995, while Yul is known for his role in the recent blockbuster Living in Bondage (Breaking Free) and some other movies in the industry.
The Kosoko Family
Jide Kosoko is another Nollywood actor Nigerians are very familiar with and is a proud father to 12 children. Amongst the 12, Bidemi Kosoko, Sola Kosoko, Temi Kosoko, Ademuyiwa Kosoko all took after their father when it came to deciding a career path.
The Kuti Family
