Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe, accompanied by her husband Kazim Adeoti, has embarked on a spiritual journey to Mecca after recently announcing her conversion to Islam.
Taking to Instagram, Mercy shared the news of their departure, expressing her gratitude and captioning the post with “Hajj 2023…… Alhamdulilah.”
Capturing the solemn moment at the airport, Mercy looked stunning in a beautiful black dress, while her husband, Kazim Adeoti, wore a white Jalabiya and a traditional cap.
Upon their arrival in Mecca, the actress shared more pictures with her husband, captioning them “Jummah Mubarak from Medina ?.”
Mercy’s decision to convert to Islam was first revealed during a Ramadan lecture and special prayer event held by Mercy and her husband in April. It was during this event that she embraced her new religious identity and introduced her new name.
Proudly declaring her new name as Hajia Meenah Mercy Adeoti, she stated, “Insha Allah, my new name is Hajia Meenah Mercy Adeoti. Meenah with the H.”
Known as an accomplished actress, director, fashionista, and businesswoman, Mercy Aigbe Hajiya Meenah has made a tremendous impact on the entertainment industry, particularly in Yoruba indigenous movies. Some of her notable performances include movies such as “Lagos Real Fake Life,” “Palava,” and “City Hustlers,” among others.
