Tinubu unveils type of government for Nigeria
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

In a statement signed by himself on Thursday in Abuja, Bola Tinubu, the President-elect, stated that his focus is to establish a government of national competence to tackle Nigeria’s challenges, rather than a government of national unity.

According to Tinubu, his goal is to create a safer, more prosperous, and equitable Nigeria by appointing competent individuals from across the country who are selected solely based on their ability and performance, without being hindered by extraneous factors.

Tinubu emerged as the winner of the Feb. 25 Presidential election, having defeated Atiku Abubakar of the PDP and Peter Obi of the LP. He has been issued his Certificate of Return by INEC and is anticipated to be sworn in as Nigeria’s next President in a few weeks, succeeding President Muhammadu Buhari.
