Stay Prepared for the Election Day: Your Ultimate Guide

You don’t want to end up standing in a long queue for hours and realize that you’ve forgotten something essential at home. So, here are ten items you should carry along with you to ensure a smooth voting experience.

  1. Your voter’s card: This is the most important item you’ll need to carry with you. Without it, you won’t be allowed to vote. Ensure you have it in a safe place the night before the election day.
  2. Water and snacks: It’s important to stay hydrated and energized while you wait in line to vote. Bring along a bottle of water and some snacks such as fruit or energy bars.
  3. Face mask: With the COVID-19 pandemic still ongoing, it’s important to protect yourself and others by wearing a face mask. Carry an extra mask in case one gets dirty or damaged.
  4. Hand sanitizer: Along with a face mask, hand sanitizer is a must-have to maintain good hygiene. Use it before and after touching any surfaces, especially the voting machines.
  5. Comfortable shoes: You may have to stand in line for hours, so it’s important to wear comfortable shoes that will keep your feet happy.
  6. Sunglasses and sunscreen: If you’ll be voting outside or standing in the sun for a long time, it’s important to protect your skin and eyes from the sun’s harmful rays.
  7. ID card: While your voter’s card is the primary identification document, it’s always good to have a backup ID card such as your driver’s license or passport.
  8. Power bank: If you plan on taking photos or videos on your phone while waiting in line, you’ll need a power bank to ensure your phone doesn’t die.
  9. Umbrella or raincoat: You never know when it might rain on election day, so it’s always a good idea to carry an umbrella or a raincoat.
  10. Reading material: Lastly, you may have to wait in line for a while, so bring along a book, magazine, or any other reading material to keep you entertained.
