The owner of Chelsea Football Club, Roman Abramovic, has handed over the running of the club to the Trustees of the Chelsea Charitable Foundation and stepped away from the club’s affairs.
This decision comes amidst sanctions on him and other Russians over Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine.
He said, “I am today giving trustees of Chelsea’s charitable Foundation the stewardship and care of Chelsea FC.”
