Labour Unions have said they will hols their planned protests today despite meeting with the Federal Government Yesterday.
The protest aims to put attention on the government’s inability to send the new minimum wage bill to the National Assembly.
Chris Onyeka, Deputy General Secretary of the United Labour Congress (ULC) has called today a “national day of mourning.” while Dr. Peter Ozo-Eson, General Secretary of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) said the body would announce the date for the national strike.
“When a date is decided for the commencement of a strike, we will inform the public appropriately.”
The Labour Unions have dismissed the rumour of a strike and said what is going on today is merely a protest.
