Nollywood superstar, Genevieve Nnaji recently celebrated 2 decades in the movie industry.
The actress took to her Instagram page at the end of the year 2018 to reflect on her achievements so far in the movie industry.
She wrote, “As 2018 comes to an end, I mark 20 years in the art of film making. I’m grateful for my life, journey, and growth thus far. I’m happy I could celebrate with you through a product that embodied all of me, mentally and spiritually; for all of your pleasure. May 2019 be our best year yet. Happy New Year! ?.”
Genevieve made her acting debut as a child actress in the 90s soap opera Ripples when she was just eight years. She, however, made her Nollywood debut in the film Most Wanted when she was 19.
Her breakthrough in the industry came in 2002 when she acted in Sharon Stone.
Genevieve who is referred to as the “Julia Roberts of Africa”, had a great 2018 as rights to her movie “Lion Heart”, was acquired by Netflix, making it the first Nigerian original movie on the streaming service.
