The late rapper, who was murdered in Miami this summer, appears to admit committing assault, domestic abuse and stabbing eight people in a secret recording obtained by US publication Pitchfork.
Before his death, the 20-year-old was facing charges of beating and threatening his pregnant ex-girlfriend.
On the new recording, which was reportedly taken from the Miami-Dade County state attorney’s office, the rapper is apparently heard saying: “I put my source of happiness in another person, which was a mistake initially, right?
“But she fell through on every occasion until now. Until I started [messing] her up bruh. I started [messing] her up because she made one mistake.
“And from there, the whole cycle went down. Now she’s scared. That girl is scared for her life. Which I understand.”
Earlier this month, XXXTentacion received a posthumous honour at the BET Hip Hop Awards, winning best new hip hop artist, and earlier picked up favourite soul/R&B album at the American Music Awards.
His awards were accepted by his mother Cleopatra Bernard (pictured above).
Her son will be ineligible for the same award at next year’s Grammys, as his debut album 17 was released shortly outside of the eligibility period.
