Nigerian Model, Mayowa Nicholas to walk the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2017
The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show cast list is out, and it’s already making history. The 2017 edition of the infamous runway show will be the most diverse it’s ever been when it comes to race. This year, close to 50% of the models are blacks, Asians or Hispanics which is a stark difference from years past.
There are six black models who will be making their debut at the 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show and one of them is the young Nigerian model Mayowa Nicholas.
Nigerian international model, Mayowa Nicholas who won the Elite Model Look Nigeria and was announced as the new of face of Calvin Klein will be walking the runway of Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show for the first time.
Mayowa Nicholas who was born to Nigerian parents in Ifako Ijaiye, Lagos State, started her journey to the world of fashion when she was scouted by Elite Model Look Nigeria team while on her way to the salon.
Mayowa emerged winner of the Elite Model Look Nigeria 2014 female category when she was 16. Vogue Magazine later named her among the 15 new faces that ruled Fall 2016.
In 2016, she also became the first Nigerian model to grace a Dolce & Gabbana campaign, and she has walked runways for the likes of Hermes, Dior, Prada and Balmain, Calvin Klein, Miu Miu, and Kenzo.
The 19yr old model signed to Elite Paris and Milan as well as parent agency BETH in Nigeria.
